We are recruiting new PhD and MS students to join our group in 2023!
Our graduate application deadline is January 1, 2023 and interested students should first email Dr. Karl Lang with a CV/Resume and brief (<1 page) description of research interests.
Current projects are focused on novel geo+thermochronology, methods development and applications in the eastern Himalaya, Colorado River and Appalachian mountains. Students have access to equipment for fission-track, (U-Th)/He and (U-Th)/Pb dating as well as a wide range of surface science and microscopy techniques (e.g. Raman, SEM, TEM, see options here).
Prior experience with geo+thermochronology, mass spectrometry, ultra-high vacuum systems, computerized microscopy, image processing, and machine learning are a plus. Coding experience in Matlab, python, or Java is preferred.
We are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive and equitable research group and we encourage students of all personal identities and backgrounds to consider working with us! Please feel free to reach out to Dr. Karl Lang with any questions!
